Miguel Zenn is a rabbit Thiren. What is a Thiren? inside the ZZZ universe, Thirens are humanoid creatures with animal characteristics. In Miguel's case, he's a human that has rabbit ears and a rabbit tail.He is a trans man and goes by he/him pronouns only. He doesn't intend on taking hormones, but he does want to get top surgery eventually.Despite his short stature and slim figure — which make look like he's too young for his actual age — Miguel is very skilled at fist fighting, which helped him get his current job at Hollow Especial Operations Section 6 (or just Section 6 for short), a governmental unit dedicated to protecting the citizens of New Eridu (where ZZZ's story takes place).He is autistic with ADHD. Personality-wise, he's very introverted and struggles with holding casual conversations with most people. His sensory issues make him repulsed by other people's touch (expect for Harumasa's touch) and many types of food. He struggles a lot with executive dysfunction. His other disorders include depression, anxiety and PTSD. He's currently taking medicine for them.Miguel is my self insert. He is literally me inside the ZZZ universe, so I tried my best to make him as close to me as possible. He acts like me and looks like me (apart from the bunny features, of course, lol). So, please, be respectful towards his character.

Before telling you about the lore, I have to explain something important. Harumasa has a terminal illness called Ether Aptitude Regression Syndrome. It's an illness that only exists inside the ZZZ universe, and it has no cure. In Harumasa's case, this illness affects mostly his lungs and heart. The vast majority of people with this illness dies at an early age, as children. The person who lived the most with this illness died at age 26, which means Harumasa currently doesn't have much time to live, as he's most likely on his early 20s (he's 22 in my yumeship). His parents abandoned him in a hospital when he was a kid, and a doctor he called "master" took care of him since then. Besides taking care of Harumasa's health, his master taught him archery and swordmanship, and he became a father figure to Harumasa. But after some time, his master suddenly leaves, and Harumasa finds himself abandoned again. We find out later in the game the reason for his master leaving.Ok, now I'll tell you about the lore! Miguel and Harumasa met when they were kids, at age 9 and 7 respectively. As a kid, Miguel had seizures very often, so he was constantly accompanied at a hospital his parents took him to. One day, when he was at the waiting room for a doctor appointment, a boy with golden eyes caught his attention. He was encouraged by his mother to talk to the boy and soon they started playing together. That boy was, you guessed it, Harumasa.As Miguel kept visiting the hospital Harumasa lived in, both kids quickly became insperable best friends. They were basically the only friend each of them had, so they were very important to each other. One day, they make a promise that neither of them would die soon, and they would live and stay friends until they reach adulthood.

Three years of friendship go by, but one day Miguel realizes Harumasa is nowhere to be found at the hospital. Miguel finds it strange and goes ask his parents about it, and they tell him Harumasa most likely had died. This takes a huge toll on Miguel, and the kid goes through a hard period of grief, since Harumasa was his beloved best friend. He cries for days and ends up traumatized by this event.Because of his friend's death, Miguel starts to dedicate himself to learn more about Harumasa's illness. For that, he illegally starts going inside hollows. What is a hollow? Inside the ZZZ universe, a hollow is a place in which the air is contamined by Ether, a dangerous substance that corrupts people into Ethereals the more they consume it. Ethereals are some kinds of "monsters" inside the ZZZ universe. Once someone becomes an Ethereal, they lose their human conscience and become hostile to non-Ether life, so they become a threat to humans, as they have the urge to kill them.As Miguel illegally enters hollows, he is forced to learn how to fight to protect himself from Ethereals and hostile hollow raiders, so he eventually becomes really good a fist fighting. He starts to learn a lot about Ether Aptitude Regression Syndrome, even some obscure stuff that is not known to the general public, such as doctors making the patients with his illness as subjects for producing illegal drugs.As he learns all these things, he decides to become an executive officer at the Hollow Special Operations (HSO), a governmental arm force dedicaded to taking care of hollow disasters and protecting citizens against them. As he develops good fighting skills, he's pretty much fit for working there, so he joins the Public Security Training Academy to eventually become an executive officer at HSO.One day, at the Academy, he overhears some people talking about a new Section of HSO, which is Section 6. He learns that, among the members of Section 6, there's someone called Asaba Harumasa. Desperately, he searches the name on the Inter-Knot (internet in ZZZ universe) and learns that his childhood friend is not only still alive after all these years, but he's also a very strong archer inside of the elite HSO Section 6. Miguel is now even more motivated to join HSO.As he graduates from the Academy, Miguel eventually gets his spot as the new executive officer of HSO Section 6. He is nervous to meet Harumasa again after twelve years of believing he was dead, although he is sure Harumasa will not recognize him, because he now looks a lot different from back then, not to mention he has a new name and has transitioned his gender to male. But, to Miguel's surprise, Harumasa immediately recognizes him.They have an emotional reunion, and eventually Miguel learns that Harumasa had "disappeared" from the hospital back then because his master left him.Time goes by and one day Harumasa ends up initiating their first kiss and they start dating. Everything is good for some months, but as Harumasa gets a flare up from is illness, he starts thinking he will hurt Miguel when he eventually dies. He considers breaking up, but Miguel makes sure to tell him he wants to seize the days they have left together more than anything, so they continue dating. Eventually, Miguel moves in to Harumasa's apartment and they start a life together.

That's it, I guess! Honesly, I haven't written about the moment Harumasa actually dies in my yumeship lore; I avoid thinking about his death because it makes me sad to think about it, lol. So the ending of their story is open for now. But they do eventually get married and have a daughter named Asuka. You can find out more about her in the section "About Asuka".

Miguel's pregnancy wasn't planned at all. Considering Harumasa's illness, neither of them had ever thought they'd be getting a child.When Miguel told Harumasa about his pregnancy (he took a pregnancy test hidden from Haru), he broke into tears, scared of Harumasa's reaction. He kept apologizing constantly, believing it was somehow his fault."Why are you apologizing?" Harumasa asked. "I'm also a part of this. I'm as guilty as you are, you don't need to apologize." He hugged Miguel and kept comforting him until he calmed down a bit.Having a child was something Harumasa had secretly always wanted, but he wouldn't dare even try it. Since he was terminally ill, he was too scared of putting a child of his own blood in the world; not only would he die too early to be a present father, but there was also the possibility of the child inheriting his illness. And he didn't wish that on anyone.With the pregnancy news, he was scared. But, at the same time, there was a bit of... excitement...? Having a child with the person he loved seemed so sweet. He started imagining all the scenarios of raising the kid with Miguel, and it warmed his heart.As for Miguel... he would never admit it to Harumasa, but having a child with him was a wish he had since the beginning of their relationship. The reason was simple... he wanted to heave a piece of Harumasa with him after the latter's death. He would miss Harumasa too much, but at least he'd have someone of his blood with him. It was a selfish wish, Miguel thought, that's why he never told anyone. But it was a wish regardless.So they talked it out after finding out about the pregnancy and, even though they were both scared, they decided to keep the baby. Logically speaking, it would be better to terminate the pregnancy, but their hearts and emotions spoke louder. Both of them wanted this.Soon, they'd be excited about the baby. They'd spend hours cuddling in bed talking about all the future scenarios with the child. They'd proudly tell the people around them about the pregnancy.When Asuka was born, she was received with much love and care. And when she was at the age to get tested for Ether Aptitude Regression Syndrome, fortunately it came out negative; she didn't have the illness! It was a relief for both her parents.
Adult Asuka
As an adult, Asuka becomes quite the rebel.She grew up always in fear of her parents dying because of their job at HSO Section 6, and she also never really like the idea of being in law enforcement. Because of those things, she decides to go the rebel route and joins Mockingbird, becoming a phantom thief.What is Mockingbird? It's a faction on the ZZZ universe, and its members are phantom thieves who steal from the rich to give to the poor. Since Asuka is very passionate about social justice, she finds joining Mockingbird a good idea.
